Despite the recent economic recession in the UK, the view has been reinforced that many people still do not appreciate the vital role which commercial property plays in the UK economy, and it took a recent research report from Currie and Scott (1991) at the London Business School to highlight this. The authors examined the role of commercial property as an asset, or contributor to the UK’s stock of wealth; its role in economic activity and its role in investment.
