The history of the acceptance of blacks into the mainstream of corporate America reflects little optimism that change will be forthcoming. Black entrepreneurship, targeted toward the large populous black concentrations, would appear one technique for developing business skills and economic self-sufficiency. Minorities other than blacks have persevered in developing business acumen and economic independence. Why not blacks? The search for an answer to this question is the focus of this research.
