Abstract

This chapter broadens the discussion to the socio-economic context of urban economic development, beginning with the urban health divide, which is a serious socio-economic problem in practically all advanced countries. A corrective policy perspective on community health is referred to as wellness for all, a perspective that indirectly contributes to wellness-oriented economic development. The chapter ends by building a picture of wellness as a balancing and integrative factor in urban economic development, which widens the perspective from a narrow cluster policy to inclusive growth.
