In the new multimedia applications, it is required to support not only fixed is-a and part-of relationships but also various dynamic relationships including complicate composition. Furthermore, multimedia data can not be fully described on class level, because new data of multimedia applications have unique structures and various relationships with other objects on instance object level. However, existing data models have weakness in representing those complex relationships. This paper presents two-level modeling schemes ORM for the multimedia composition in time and space with respect to object-relationships. ORM uses the tagged aggregation to abstract temporal-spatial structures on class level. ORM also supports descriptions of detailed relationships on instance object level. In particular, the proposed model is extensible to be easily enhanced for multimedia application needs. We also propose a conceptual diagram ORD for graphically describing a multimedia database modeled by ORM. This diagram overcomes the shortcomings of the ER diagram. The conceptual diagram can be easily converted to a logical object-oriented multimedia schema.
