Zusammenfassung

In der Psychologie wird unter der Umwelt eines Menschen die Gesamtheit aller externen Bedingungen verstanden, die sein Erleben und Verhalten beeinflussen. In der Persönlichkeitspsychologie wird dieser Umweltbegriff auf regelmäßig wiederkehrende Situationen eingegrenzt: So wie es mittelfristig stabile Persönlichkeitseigenschaften gibt, gibt es auch mittelfristig stabile Umwelteigenschaften, die Personen charakterisieren. In diesem Kapitel werden diese Umwelteigenschaften, Beziehungen zwischen Umwelt und Persönlichkeit und Methoden zu deren Erfassung diskutiert. Ferner werden persönliche Beziehungen als zentrale Aspekte der persönlichen Umwelt vorgestellt und am Beispiel von sozialen Netzwerken und ausgewählten Beziehungen (Eltern-Kind- und Partnerbindung) erörtert. Schließlich wird diskutiert, welchen Beitrag die Persönlichkeitspsychologie zur professionellen Partnervermittlung leisten kann.
