Abstract

The influence of the binding form as well as its redox properties are in the focus for the uptake of this element by living organism. In the literature many references can be found, dealing only with transfer factors for the uptake. However, many biochemical reactions influence this uptake and as this element non-essential for life, several strategies for the further handling by the cell are possible and will be discussed.
