Abstract

The performance improvement of the wireless network is obtained by flexible interoperability between existing and emerging systems. Recently, hybrid handoff architectures have begun to support sufficient quality of service and have gained more attention in wireless system design. But seamless access in hybrid architecture is a major issue in terms of connectivity, handoff initiation and resource sharing. To overcome these issues, an interoperability handover scheme is proposed with four wireless networks. It is based on localized computation and available resources. This work helps to solve the fundamental handover and mobility management problem. The proposed architecture is evaluated through network simulations and proves that this work will support an improved handoff success index and reduce false handoff.
