An interactive decision framework is presented for negotiating delivery dates and prices in small job-shops. The system consists of the following procedures: a)QUOTCLAS: Classification of customer enquiries according to the elasticity of prices and delivery dates.b)LEADTEST: Delivery lead times are checked against norms set by the management and shortening options are examined.c)TOTBA: The impact of new orders on existing work backlogs is examined against norms set by the management.d)QUOTCALC: Costs are calculated in cases of disruptions of lead time and backlog norms. Price discounts are premiums are considered for alternative delivery lead times.
