Advanced Colored Image Encryption Method in Using Evolution Function

Abstract

Transmission of images secretly over public networks faces a lot of challenges like content manipulation, forging, illegal access, etc. A number of image encryption methods have been suggested to address such challenges. This paper proposed a robust encryption method for the color image using discrete cosine transformation (DCT). In this work, the diffusion operator is applied on pixels directly followed by the confusion operator applied in frequency domain. The diffused image is the result of XOR process with the key produced from the logistic map applied to the original image. Then, DCT is used for converting the fixed size image blocks to make it in frequency domain. After that, the frequency coefficients are rearranged using a chaotic map. Finally, the encrypted image is resulted through inverse DCT (IDCT). The proposed method is applied to various images to check its robust property. In the result and analysis section, it is shown that the proposed method is efficient against any attacks.
