Analysis of 3-methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane treated cenosphere inclusion on dynamic mechanical properties of ABS composites

Abstract

Growth of Automobile industries and thrust for innovative materials led material developers to develop cost effective and property rich plastic composites particularly having good Dynamic Mechanical Properties. The present study deals with development of ABS composites by using 3-methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane (KBM-503) treated cenosphere (CS) as filler. In this study composites were prepared using co-rotating twin screw extruder with filler concentration 0–30 wt%. Injection molded specimens were prepared to analyze the effect of concentration of silane treated cenosphere on the dynamic mechanical properties of ABS composites. The structural characterization was analyzed by SEM instrument.
