Announcing the Winners of the 2007 Harry C. Bigglestone Award

The Fire Protection Research Foundation, the National Fire Protection Association, and Fire Technology, announce that Michael S. Klassen, Jason A. Sutula, Maclain M. Holton, and Richard J. Roby of Combustion Science and Engineering, Inc. along with Thomas Izbicki of the Dallas City Fire Marshal’s Office, have been selected as recipients of the 2007 Harry C. Bigglestone Award for Excellence in Communication of Fire Protection Concepts. This honor is for their paper “Transmission Through and Breakage of Multi-Pane Glazing Due to Radiant Exposure” that appeared in the Second Quarter 2006 issue of Fire Technology (Volume 42, Number 2, pp. 79-107). The award was conferred at the Opening General Session of NFPA’s 2007 World Safety Conference and Exposition in Boston, MA, June 1007. In the same venue the authors presented a paper on their work at a session sponsored by the NFPA Research Section. …
