Abstract

In the current leaf spring production, side bending is an important issue affecting the quality of leaf spring. Once the leaf spring is bent, the strength of the product will be greatly reduced. Moreover, leaf springs will not be assembled and will be directly assessed as “waste products”. It is common that we will straighten the leaf spring with a punch immediately after blanking. But after the data analysis of the whole production process, we found many meaningful data. In the following processes, such as the spring eye, heating, quenching and shot blasting, there is a high probability that side bending will occur again, which greatly affects the product precision and reduces the production efficiency. After analyzing the collected data, it has been found that the application of the infrared sensitive technology in hot straightening machines can greatly improve the efficiency of the straightening machines. Besides, the transformation and upgrading of the whole production process can be promoted by solving the problem of the side bending of the leaf spring as a breakthrough. Therefore, it is of great significance to combine the infrared sensitive technology with hot straightening machines.
