Abstract

Visual impairment is the inability of visual perception due to various biological, genetic and neurological factors. Navigation from one place to other has been highly inevitable in man’s life, where visually impaired people face this issue on a daily basis. These people need the support of others for their daily activities, especially for navigation. They rely on the traditional walking stick, guide dogs and guides for help. But with the evolution of technology, there are various new inventions that help the visually challenged to navigate with ease in indoor and outdoor environments. The paper discusses the existing approaches and also shows the novelty of the project developed. This project aims at a low-cost, user-friendly, smart navigation guidance device that helps in navigation of the visually challenged from one place to other with the blend of IoT.
