Abstract

This chapter describes the research background and study objectives for this book. It briefly reports some research questions, summarizes the research method, and illustrates the book structure.
In the original concept of bionic, the relationship considered was between persons and machines. In the case of banking, the relationships considered in this book are between automation and persons. Similarly, the word fintech organization in this book does not refer to startups but to fintech startups and traditional financial institutions that use innovative solutions to support financial functionality.
