Dr. Carsten Russner, Managing Director of Kyocera Fineceramics Precision, is the new President of the European Technical Ceramics Federation (EuTeCer).

Dr. Carsten Russner was elected as the new President of the European Technical Ceramics Federation (EuTeCer) on December 10, 2021. He thus also represents technical ceramics on the Cerame-Unie presidium. "I am honored to preside over such a dynamic and innovative industry on an international level," says a delighted Dr. Carsten Russner. "As the new president, I would like to strengthen communication within the individual sectors in Europe so that we can benefit from each other in the future." What spoke in favor of the managing director of the Kyocera subsidiary specialized in fine ceramics was his more than 30 years of professional experience and the resulting technical expertise, as well as his academic background. Russner holds a PhD in mechanical engineering, a degree in quality specialist engineering and in mechanical engineering. His activities also include the deputy chairmanship of the Technical Ceramics Group in the VKI (Ceramic Industry Association).
EuTeCer is an association for technical ceramics whose members are located in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Romania and Turkey, and which is one of the nine sectors belonging to the umbrella organization of the European ceramics industry Cerame-Unie. Of seven of these ceramics sectors, including EuTeCer, Cerame-Unie provides the secretariat, with the other two secretariats located in Hagen (EEA) and Brussels (EXCA). Members and associate members - both national associations and direct members - are based in 30 European countries, including 27 EU member states. According to its own figures, the ceramics industry comprises around 2,000 companies in the EU, including not only large international groups but also a large proportion of SMEs (80%).
