3. Confirming the Public Affairs Triumvirate with Science: Evidence-Based Public Affairs

This chapter advances the conceptual model and the first stage of the “science to service to philosophy” perspective by presenting the strategy template to chronicle the scientific inquiry and confirmation of the relationships between the Community, Organization, and Administration in a Public Affairs structural equation model. The reader will understand the author’s inductive approach to draw conclusions from particular evidence in the modeling to explain the phenomenon of the fit and relationships between the Community, Organization, and Administration. The assessment and results from science extends the author’s motivation to apply the Public Affairs Triumvirate Strategy to community challenges in Chapters 4–6, thus building the case to legitimize the philosophy of the newfound leadership approach.
