Abstract

When making spiral submerged arc welded pipes required for transportation of oil and water, how to cut these pipes has always been a difficult problem. To this end, this paper developed a cutting device for the production of spiral submerged arc welded pipe. This device uses PLC as the data processing center of the control system, controls the electronic control components such as cylinder, push rod motor and cutting motor to realize a series of system actions such as feeding, unloading and cutting. The spiral submerged arc welded pipes of different sizes and different diameters are fixed by the cooperation of the upper and lower sets of rollers and springs. Through the touch screen to set the parameters required for each action, to achieve a closed loop system of cutting-detection-then cutting. After experimental verification, the device can fully automatically load and unload steel pipes, and can rotate and cut spiral submerged arc welded pipes of different sizes and different diameters.
