A business model consists of numerous components and is described as the overall logic, or rationale, that allows the firm to create value (Andreini and Bettinelli 2017). The capability to adapt an existing business model is paramount for any business that desires to compete long-term. Numerous examples exist of firms that failed to update their business model when stakeholder demands change (e.g., Blockbuster); however, when a firm is able to innovate its business model and adapt to inevitable change, numerous opportunities exist for enhanced performance and competitive advantage. …
