Design and Application of a Mining-Induced Stress Testing System

Abstract

During the mining process, especially under the deep mining condition, damage process of coal and rock interacts with space–time evolution of mining-induced stress. The indoor test of evolution of mining-induced stress is an effective research approach. Based on the theoretical research of evolution of mining-induced stress in recent years, from the perspectives of the macroscopic failure characteristics and microscopic damage characteristics of coal and rock, a set of mining-induced stress testing system, combined with the non-uniform loading test machine, hydraulic servo control system, computer control system and acoustic emission system, is developed. The mining-induced stress testing system can realize that the non-uniform loading of large-size specimen, the space–time evolution of mining-induced stress, real-time monitoring of microscopic damage of coal and rock specimen, and so on. In order to verify the reliability and practicability of the system, stress transfer test at different rates was carried out. The study results reflected that the mining-induced stress testing system can be used to provide effective laboratory guidance and analysis for the evolution of mining-induced stress.
