The Fire Protection Research Foundation, the National Fire Protection Association, and Fire Technology, announce that Bogdan Z. Dlugogorski, Ted H. Schaefer, and Eric M. Kennedy, all of the University of Newcastle, Australia, have been selected as recipients of the 2008 Harry C. Bigglestone Award for Excellence in Communication of Fire Protection Concepts. This honor is for their paper “Pressure-Loss Correlations for Designing Foam Proportioning Systems” that appeared in the Second Quarter 2007 issue of Fire Technology (Volume 43, Number 2, pages 123–144). The award is to be conferred at the Opening General Session of NFPA’s 2008 World Safety Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas, Nevada, June 2008. At the same venue the authors will present a paper on their work to an educational session sponsored by the NFPA Research Section. …
