This paper presents two methods for the treatment of block interfaces with non-coincident grid nodes. The first approach uses linear interpolation to transfer flow data between the adjacent blocks. This technique permits an arbitrary distribution of grid nodes at the interface. A new procedure enables an accurate interpolation near body surfaces. But this approach is not flux conservative. The second method requires a fixed refinement ratio but ensures flux conservation across the interface. The methods are designed to simplify the grid generation process and to be used for grid adaptation. Several examples demonstrate the gain in flexibility with either technique.
