The objectives of this task were to measure the characteristics of the nearshore circulation system at both field experimental sites and to develop a predictive model to: (1)identify conditions where rip currents occur,(2)provide information on the characteristics (spacing, strength, etc.) of these currents, and,(3)determine their effects on the transport of sand along the beach.
