Abstract
The global financial–productive crisis of 2008 questioned the theoretical capability of the neoclassical synthesis and its statistical–econometric toolkit to understand contemporary capitalism, a situation that tends to deepen because of the economic impact of the COVID-19 global pandemic. This contemporary global scenario characterized by economic stagnation and uncertainty makes relevant the revisit of the theory of the State and its role in economic development in Knowledge Capitalism from a space–time perspective. This approach takes to decode recent national development modalities that overcame backwardness far from neoliberalism such as Finland and China. These lessons light the path of post-neoliberalism in Latin America, as well as post-COVID-19 pandemic new World Order resulting from the clash of predominant development pathways on a global scale.
