Madeline Albright, John McCain, and Angelina Jolie have already endorsed this book about the ICC. That's a tough act to follow. However, I have to disagree with the madam secretary, who describes the book as “rigorous in its arguments and humane in its conclusions, the volume is an indispensable guide for scholars and policymakers alike.” Although the book's conclusions are certainly humane, its analysis is not rigorous by academic standards, and hopefully policymakers who need to make decisions about the US relationship with the ICC will find most of the content already familiar. …
