Analyzing the spectral characteristics of a pulsed Laguerre higher-order cosh-Gaussian beam propagating through a paraxial ABCD optical system

Abstract

The study focuses on the behavior of pulsed Laguerre higher-order cosh-Gaussian (LHChG) beam propagating through a paraxial ABCD optical system. The formula for propagation is derived using the extended Huygens-Fresnel principle and Fourier Transform method. The investigation analyzes how transverse positions and initial beam parameters affect the spectral intensity of the beam. It also examines the relative spectral shift of the beam at different radial coordinates through numerical calculations. The findings show that the spectral intensity is influenced by beam order and pulse duration. From our main results, one derives some particular cases of the considered beam such as the Laguerre cosh-Gaussian (LChG), Laguerre-Gaussian (LG), and Gaussian beams. Physical explanation for the spectral transition of the analyzed beam in a paraxial ABCD optical system is provided. The research has practical applications in information coding and transmission.
