Honda is participating not only as a passenger vehicle manufacturer but also as a motorcycle manufacturer in the European Drive C2X project (Car-to-X). As Honda is the only OEM participating in the project with bi-modal experience, it is in the best position to propose how the ITS service should be structured from the point of view of both drivers and riders. This article introduces the prototype motorcycle, which will participate in ITS projects and advance ITS technology in Europe. An ITS service for motorcycle safety called “Motorcycle Approaching Indication” (MAI) is also focused on. …
