Modern Prepregs Based on Polymer Organic Fibers for the Manufacture of Aerostructures

Abstract

In the present work, we analyzed a range of semi-products (prepregs) based on polymer organic fibers applied in aerostructures. The process characteristics of these prepregs are given and the features of their application in molding as individual materials and in combination with prepregs based on glass and carbon fibers are analyzed. The properties of materials made of prepregs (organoplastics) are considered. Prepregs based on organic fibers were found to have a wide range of process characteristics enabling their selection for certain parts depending on structural and technological peculiarities and operation conditions. Prepregs based on polymer fibers are applied for the manufacture of organoplastic parts and hybrid structures in combination with prepregs based on glass and carbon fibers.
