Modern Tools of Passenger Public Transport Integration

The development of IT technologies and data transfer, as well as their greater accessibility, allowed for more popular implementation of modern solutions using, among others, e-card as a tool to present data proving payment or the right to use public transport based on the rule other than paid ticket. Within last few years in Poland there were implemented numerous solutions using such tools as e- tickets. Currently, consumers using public transport service has become more demanding, therefore the companies offering public transport services are constantly forced to introduce innovations in order to satisfy consumers’ needs and to improve the quality of public transport itself. Taking advantage of IT tools and solutions it is possible to manage the services better, to improve their quality and to offer passengers more comfortable services use. Most important, however, IT tools are the important instruments of transport integration. In the article there are presented some of the modern solutions concerning public transport in the urban areas.
