Organization of Information Works, Information, Analytical, Hardware, and Technological Support for Decision Making of the State Authorities

The characteristics of the distributed network of situation centers as the basis for effective information support of the public authorities are given. The classification of control centers and situation centers is presented; emphasis is placed on the information technology and hardware support for the system of making state-management decisions. The importance of information and communication networks and systems in ensuring management processes is revealed. The main models of the state structure and management that exist in the world, as well as the mechanisms for making managerial decisions at the state level, are presented. The role and the importance of modeling and forecasting situations as analytical tools to support management decision-making is noted. The information resources of Russia and foreign countries that contribute to improving the efficiency of the analytical work of the state bodies are presented. Special attention is paid to the threats for the information security of critical infrastructure. The great importance of the introduction of innovative methods into the public administration system based on advanced information and telecommunications technologies and aimed at improving the efficiency of managerial decision making is emphasized.
