Abstract

Hydrogen peroxide in forms available in the market can be used as an effective oxidizing agent for metals and alloys in organic media containing water and in the presence of inorganic or carboxylic acids and a stimulating additive of iodine. The influence that the method of adding water solutions to the charge has on the characteristics of the process was investigated at the quantitative level, including the influence on the distribution of the reagent mix components over the phases, the conditions of selective use of peroxide in the process, on the ratio of the consumption rates of different metals in the alloys during the process evolution, and on the possibility and conditions of excluding the organic solvent from the bulk phase.
