Diese Daten erfassen zunächst deskriptiv-objektiv Struktur und Inhalt der Videoclips, ehe sie kontextbezogen und diskursiv (Arena, Galerie, „backstage“ im Sinne von Gerhards in Keller et al. 2010, S. 334) interpretiert werden können (Argumentationsmuster, Sprecherpositionen). Statistiken von Youtube zu Videoaufrufen, Fundquellen und Interaktion können den Impact- oder Dispersions-Faktor einzelner Clips verdeutlichen und über die Kommentarfunktion das Diskurspotenzial der Quelle abschätzen. Ziel ist nicht allein, über einen „linguistischen Formalismus“ (Foucault 2012, S. 44) und statistisch-quantitative Daten diskursive Fäden „auszurechnen“, sondern „In-dem-Gesagten“, „Wie-(oft)-Gesagten“ und „Nicht-Gesagten“ unterschiedlicher Teilkorpora im diachronen und synchronen Vergleich Diskursmuster und -verwerfungen im Sinne der Identifizierung neuer Diskursfäden bzw. -fragmente zu erkennen.
