Abstract
This chapter first predicts that firms will start going back to more global supply chains. This ‘reglobalization’ can bring back old challenges related to complexity and risk. However, the use of modern technologies and robust planning strategies can help navigate these complexities and risks. Then, the chapter takes a bold leap to consider supply chains that extend into outer space. As companies seek unique resources to gain a competitive edge, outer space could offer untapped opportunities. But the complexities and risks associated with sourcing and manufacturing in space, not to mention the challenges of preserving the space environment, are significant and require careful navigation.
