Teaching Reform of New Media Data Analysis Course Based on OBE Concept

The research on teaching reform of new media data analysis course based on OBE concept is a research project. It is conducted by the computer science teaching and learning research center of the school of information technology, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. This study aims to study the effectiveness of using real-time online collaborative learning environment (OBL) as a teaching tool to teach students how to analyze data collected from social networking sites such as Facebook and twitter. The main purpose is to evaluate the impact of this method on students’ performance, because they can learn how to conduct effective analysis. Researchers will be able to understand the teaching methods and practices that effectively improve students’ learning results by analyzing their experience of using OBE based teaching methods. This study will also provide a theoretical framework for future research related to OBE based teaching methods. The main purpose of this study is to study how teachers use OBE (observation, brainstorming, evaluation) as a teaching tool.
