The term “service” has existed for thousands of years along human history. When a person or a group performs some work to benefit another, it becomes a service. Many versions of definitions exist for the term “service”. For example, James Fitzimmons

defines a service as follows:
“A service is a time-perishable, intangible experience performed for a customer acting in the role of co-producer.”
