Zusammenfassung

Ausgangspunkt der jüngeren Geschlechterforschung zum Mittleren Osten ist die Kritik an ahistorischen und kulturalistischen Diskursen über die Geschlechterverhältnisse in der Region. In transnationaler Perspektive wird gezeigt, wie unterschiedliche Geschlechtervorstellungen und Geschlechterordnungen diskursiv, gesellschaftlich und politisch ausgehandelt, geformt und umkämpft werden.
