The development of mobility from assisted toward autonomous driving requires a number of technical solutions and will only be able to establish itself via concrete use cases. In Continental's view, there is a specific need in the commercial truck and transport sector - the lack of drivers and the breakdown costs are creating palpable pressure on assistance and automated systems.
Ralph Lauxmann is Head of Strategy and Future Solutions, Member of the Management Board, business area Autonomous Mobility and Safety. He completed his degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Stuttgart in 1994, and since then has held a range of positions in well-known automotive suppliers in the area of assistance systems and holds several patents in this field. He joined Continental in 2013, where he has headed the area Strategy and Future Solutions in the business unit Autonomous Mobility and Safety since 2015.
