Abstract

The present scenario in the world including India experiences increase in electrical power demand due to the recent advancement in the technologies. Fossil fuels are predominantly used to meet the increase in demand, leading to the depletion. Henceforth, it is necessary that an alternative source of energy must be utilized along with the fossil fuels to meet the demands. Renewable energy sources, an eco-friendly source of energy, could be effectively used in meeting the crises faced by the world in terms of power demand, emission of greenhouse gases, and so on. Wind energy, a type of renewable energy sources, could be used in an effective manner, compared to other renewable energy sources, to meet the crisis. The problem faced in dispatching and integrating wind energy with the grid is the randomness of the wind, which makes the wind prediction, a necessary factor to determine. This paper explores the difficulties and challenges faced in integrating and dispatching wind power generation with the existing grid in India.
