Abstract

As a subclass of carbon dots, carbonized polymer dots (CPDs) are attracting more and more attention. But the facile preparation of full-color emitting CPDs has been rarely reported yet. Herein, we present a versatile and facile strategy for the preparation of photoluminescence (PL) CPDs, whose aqueous solutions can emit three primary colors under a single ultraviolet-light excitation. The difference in the PL emission of these CPDs is ascribed to the differences in nitrogen and oxygen contents. It is believed that the facile preparation approach would provide a promising alternative route for preparing full-color emitting CPDs.
