Mahle has started operations at its new electronics and mechatronics development center in Changshu (China). Among other things, solutions for alternative drives are to be developed there.

In Changshu (China), the supplier Mahle has moved into its new electronics and mechatronics development center. Around 70 employees will work there in the areas of electric powertrains, electronics and mechatronics, as well as charging solutions for electric vehicles and thermal management applications for alternative drives. The new site is to play an important role as an innovation hub alongside the technology centers for electronics and mechatronics in Germany, Slovenia and Spain.
Mahle established its new Electronics and Mechatronics business unit in early 2020. Currently, Mahle’s electronics and mechatronics product portfolio includes, for example, electric drives, actuators, auxiliary units, and control and power electronics. “With our new R&D center in Changshu, we will be able to focus our extensive development competencies even more specifically on the Chinese market for the benefit of our customers,” says Wilhelm Emperhoff, member of the Mahle Management Board responsible for the Electronics and Mechatronics division.
