Abstract

Enterprise Systems have become a necessary component of IT infrastructure in any organization. Implementation of Enterprise Systems is one of the most tedious of all phases of its lifecycle. In this phase organization’s routine business is severely affected. Employees are overburdened and challenged on their established ways of doing work. Processes are re-engineered and organizations are restructured. This study aims at identifying the exhaustive list of critical success factors (CSFs) useful to ensure the successful adaptation of these systems. Extensive literature review of implementation phase has been done to prepare a CSF framework. Three hundred Indian cases have been analyzed to see the relevance of these CSFs in the Indian context. Moreover the comparison of CSFs in Indian context with that of global counterparts reveals differences in relative rankings of these factors. Nonetheless all the CSFs identified shows relevance in the Indian context.
