Abstract
On world food security as defined by the UN Committee means that people who have adequate access to safe and nutritious food to meet their food inclination and dietary need for a healthy life either physically, socially or economically [1]. On the contrary, food insecurity is the limited access to healthy and nutritious food. It refers to the insufficiency and unaffordability to adequate quantity of food.It is said that India’s top 1% owns more than 50% of the country’s wealth. India being the world’s second largest food producer but also India is a country which is second largest most populated nation of undernourished people in the world (FAO 2015) [1]. India, where the agriculture sector is experiencing buoyant growth in past two years, accounting for 18.8% growth in GVA registered a growth of 3.6% in 2020–21 [2]. The present study seeks to analyse food ssuatainability in India in a detailed manner.
