Abstract

Stress impacts all employees in the private and public sectors. This study was conducted with public sector organizations to measure the stress perception of employees due to task overload. Data were collected from 595 employees and their overload stress perception was assessed using demographic variables. The results confirm that employees of a collectivist culture experience a moderate level of stress, and there is no difference in the stress perception of male and female employees. However, older employees and those possessing more qualification experience a slightly higher level of stress. Implications and recommendations for effective stress management are provided.
