Assessment of the Sensitivity of Welded Joints of Al –Mg – Si Alloys to Liquation Cracks Under Laser Welding

The microstructure and the distribution of chemical elements in laser-welded joints of Al – Mg – Si alloy 6005-T6 are studied. Segregations of chemical elements are detected over grain boundaries in the heat-affected zones of the welded joints.
