Around six months after the premiere of its large SUV ES8, Nio has now launched its smaller brother, the ES6. The performance version of the ES6 accelerates in 4.7 s from 0 to 100 km/h, and the standard version takes just 1 s longer. Used with the standard 70 kWh battery, the range according to the NEFC is 410 km, and the performance variant with an 84-kWh battery enables a range of up to 510 km. Nio uses replaceable batteries in its electric vehicles and the company has recently installed 18 battery swapping stations along a Chinese highway, which eliminate charging times. The ES6 is built to order, and the first vehicles are expected to be delivered in June 2019.
