Structure and Properties of Organofluorosilicon Polymers Based on Organotrialkoxysilanes RFOCH2Si(ORF)3

Abstract

Using the example of a polymer formed from the T-monomer RFOCH2Si(ORF)3 (RF = CH2CF3), it was shown that rapid hydrolysis of this type of compounds with a linear fluorinated substituent leads to the formation of largely ordered polysiloxanes. A comparison of the interatomic distances obtained from the pair function of the radial distribution of electron density and the oligomer model, as well as data from solid-state NMR spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, and coating properties, shows that polymers are ladder polysiloxanes with a certain ordering of macromolecules in the coating material.
