The Third U.S.-China Smart Education Conference convened at the Beijing International Conference Center on March 18, 2018. Beijing Normal University, the University of North Texas, and the National Engineering Laboratory for Cyberlearning Intelligent Technology hosted this year’s conference. The Smart Learning Institute of Beijing Normal University, the China Research Institute of Education and Social Development, and the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) collaboratively developed the program. Among the experts and distinguished guests were academicians Yunhe Pan and Qinping Zhao, of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Chaozi Lei, the Director of the Science and Technology Division, the Chinese Ministry of Education; Qi Dong, President of Beijing Normal University; Binglin Zhong, Chairman of the Chinese Society of Education; Eugene G. Kowch, President of AECT; and other experts in the field of educational technology from China and the U.S. The conference participants engaged in in-depth discussions on issues related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) 2.0 and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Education 2.0. The conference was moderated by Zuoyu Zhou, Vice President of Beijing Normal University.
