Formation of the Microgeometry of the Strip Surface Depending on the Shape of the Microrelief of the Skin-Pass Mill Roll

Abstract

A model of reproduction of the microrelief of a roll formed with the help of indenters of various shapes on the surface of a deformable strip is modeled. The developed reproduction models, considering the type of processing and conditions of skin rolling, allow estimating the degree of filling of the relief of a single microdepression of various shapes. A quantitative estimate of the transfer of the roll roughness on the tempered strip is obtained, which is characterized by a reproduction coefficient, which is the ratio of the depth of the metal flowed into the strip microcavity to the depth of the triangular and spherical microcavity of the roll. The dependences of the reproduction of the microgeometry of the roll of a skin-pass mill on the rolled strip on tension as well as the coefficient of friction during skin-pass rolling of strips of different thicknesses, which can be used in modeling the process of reproduction of the microrelief of the roll on the rolled strip, are presented. Analysis of the results showed that the strip thickness and tension have the greatest influence on the reproduction coefficient. The fraction of the shot has a slight influence on the printability coefficient. For the considered range of strip thicknesses of 0.6–3.2 mm, other conditions being equal, the roll microrelief is reproduced most fully on a thin strip.
