Achieving Organization Vitality through Innovation and Flexibility: An Empirical Study

Abstract

Managing environmental changes is the prime concern for any organization in the current knowledge era. Globalization, rapid technological changes and cut-throat competition have raised the survival, growth, and performance issues before the organization. Organizations having high vitality are able to manage these issues and succeed for a longer term compared to others. Innovation and flexibility are the two strategic intents that are critical for any organization and an integrated view of those provide strength to remain ahead in the competitive era. This study is focused on how these two processes effects the survival, growth, and performance of any organization. The study is based on exploratory and empirical research. Factors of innovation, flexibility, and organization vitality have been identified and based on that a questionnaire has been developed for empirical study. The data has been collected from experts related to diverse areas like industry experts, academicians, and policy makers. The effect of innovation and flexibility on organizational vitality has been analyzed. Factor analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis have been conducted to analyze interrelationships among the innovation, flexibility, and vitality. The final inferences of the study aim to understand how innovation, flexibility, and organization vitality are related and what are the key components of those strategic intents, organization should focus to survive, grow, perform, and achieve high vitality.
