Educational researchers and practitioners met in Dalian, China in September 2017 to share their perspectives on teaching and learning. The meeting spread over three days, including World Education Day (September 28), which coincided with Confucius’s birthday. As educational technologists analyzing the meeting content, which scholars summarized in abstracts and delivered in presentations at the conference, we derived key points for reflection. We discuss those points below in accordance with the following themes, which emerged from the analysis: (1) Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Big Data in Education; (2) Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Digital Resources Applied to Culture, Humanity, and Sustainable Development; (3) E-Learning, E-Assessment, and Digital Education; and (4) Multidisciplinary Problem Solving: Introducing STEAM+H or STEAHM. …
