The Policy Entrepreneurship framework has been widely applied in various substantive policy areas and institutional contexts, considered as a “promising” policy theory [1]. The edited volume Policy Entrepreneurship: An Asian Perspective presents a state of field collection of studies on this prominent topic. The introduction chapter provides a systematic review of the policy entrepreneurship literature with insightful critique on concepts of policy entrepreneurs, context, strategies, and future research agendas. The eight individual chapters each explore policy entrepreneurship in the Asian context, highlighting how structural and institutional setting affects strategies adopted by policy entrepreneurs, motivates them to foster policy innovations, promotes cross-jurisdictional and cross-sectoral collaborations, drives policy changes, and facilitates policy implementation. All these chapters are rich in empirical description and critical analysis on how structural factors interact with individual agency, and how various sociopolitical contexts shape the policy process in Asian countries. …
